Artes Mundi is an internationally focused visual arts organisation, based in Wales, with a biennial exhibition, creative partnerships & projects at its core. To celebrate its 10th version they approached Our Visual World to help build on their relationships with the Deaf community by supporting the creation of a training course for Deaf Led BSL Tour Guides. Our Visual World, called in well renowned BSL Tour guides based in England – John Wilson and Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq to create a training program. A Wales-wide call out gave us 7 students, from all over the country who all passed the extensive online and in
person training.
At the end of this training, BSL tours were delivered at Chapter, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Oriel Davies Gallery, National Museum Cardiff and Mostyn, And now Wales has seven trained BSL Tour Guides, based in north and south Wales.
